Description: Aims:
To provide experience in Statistics, from the planning and design of studies, through practical analysis to the reporting of results.

Learning Outcomes:

* Interact with clients to understand the appropriate application of statistical methods to solve practical problems;
* Grasp the "tricks of the trade" in the statistical analysis of data;
* Write and present critical and informative reports of statistical analyses;
* Apply the theory of GLMMs and study design to real data;

Skills:
Problem solving (T, F, A), computing (T, F, A), written communication (F, A)

Content:
Application of generalised linear mixed models in practical situations. Formulating statistical problems. Choosing an appropriate method of analysis, model-building, verification of assumptions. Working with real-life data. Presentation of results in an appropriate format.
