Description: | Aims: This unit aims to develop theoretical and practical understanding of the process and issues associated with financing entrepreneurial ventures. Learning Outcomes: Upon completing the unit, students will be able to: * Understand the nature and intricacies of various sources of financing across the different stages of venture development * Develop financial plans * Analyse investment proposals * Apply valuation methods appropriate to ventures at different development stages. Skills: Intellectual skills: * Scanning, organising, and analysing financial data (F/A); * Identifying funding needs and sources of funding (F/A) Practical skills: * Communicate with potential investors (F) * Negotiate investment agreements (F) Transferable skills: * Deal with complex issues (F) * Develop independent learning ability required for continued professional development (F).
