Learning Outcomes: At the end of this module students will be able to:
* apply and critically evaluate alternative accounting techniques for consolidating financial statements, changing prices, cash flow, financial instruments and leases;
* explain the role of financial accounting as a means to resolve conflict among contracting parties and to apply this understanding to evaluate the financial reporting requirements of organizations;
* understand the relationship between accounting information and capital markets and highlight this relationship by reference to empirical evidence;
* discuss current debates and issues in financial accounting.


Aims: The aim is to provide students with an understanding of selected key topics in accounting for the transactions of groups of companies and to provide a basis for evaluating alternative accounting methods. Develop a critical understanding of the role of accounting in capital markets and in resolving conflicts between contracting parties.
