Learning Outcomes: At the end of the unit students will be able to:
* Understand how the processes of recognition and exploitation of entrepreneurial opportunities and/or innovation take place within and across country boundaries.
* Reflect on the influences on innovation and entrepreneurship of cross-country differences in institutional and socio-economic settings.
* Analyse the implications of country-specific contexts for enabling and promoting innovation and entrepreneurship.


Aims: The objective of this unit is to develop theoretical and practical understanding of entrepreneurship and innovation in the international context.

* Identifying contextual boundaries and opportunities

* Apply frameworks and measurements to appreciate country differences
* Elaborate policy and business implications in an international setting

* Elaborate and communicate effectively complex scenarios

Content: Content will vary to ensure currency but will typically be taken from themes such as: International new ventures, international entrepreneurship, clusters and national innovativeness, regional and national systems of innovation, internationalisation of innovation, international and cross-national issues in the management of innovation, measurement of entrepreneurial activities and drivers across countries, e.g. Global Entrepreneurship Development Index (GEDI).
