Much of the Centre for Development Studies' (CDS) work is focused on the interaction between change at local, national and global levels; the dynamics of inequality, poverty, gender and other forms of discrimination; the importance (and challenge) of doing research spanning different academic disciplines; and retaining academic independence while also engaging directly in policy, practice and power relations.

We use our expertise in these areas to inform the units our students study. This helps to ensure that they are learning up-to-date theory and practice.

Below are some undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses that relate to the research interests and work of CDS.
