Bolland Lecture 2003 - Tuesday 10 June - Bristol
UWE
The
Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bath, Professor Glynis M Breakwell
will deliver this year's Bolland Lecture at the University of the
West of England.
Creative Collaborations
Higher Education Institutions are being
increasingly admonished by Government to collaborate. In truth,
of course, HEIs have always collaborated. Liaisons nationally and
internationally have been at the heart of creativity in all areas
of scholarly intellectual endeavour. This lecture will examine the
types of collaboration that have dominated in the past. It will
also explore what the Governmental policy on collaborations within
the sector will mean in the future. It will consider the variety
of forms for collaboration that could now evolve and their likely
implications, particularly for global competitiveness, regional
economies and local communities.
