Autumn Careers & Placements Fairs: information for employers

About the fair

This is our largest and best-attended careers fair of the academic year and takes place at the centre of our campus. It is an important event in the annual careers programme, and employers find it a useful opportunity to attract high-calibre applicants.

The fair spans five days to accommodate many exhibitors and theme the days appropriately. The topics for each day will be marketed to students to help them narrow their search for placement and graduate opportunities, to facilitate quality interactions.

We expect a wide range of industrial, commercial and public sector employers. Students from all years and degree disciplines will be invited to the fairs, which will be widely advertised. Please make sure you have appropriate opportunities for the day you book.

The University of Bath aims to provide accessible venues for events. If you are a representative at a fair and you have any special support needs, please let us know in advance.

Event dates and timings

The Autumn Careers and Placements Fairs occur over several days in October, from Monday 14 to Friday 18 October 2024, 11am to 3 pm. The event venue is The Claverton Rooms, central campus (BA2 7AY).

Themed days are:

  • Monday 14 October: business, consulting and finance - book this day if only recruiting for these sectors.
  • Tuesday 15 October: business, consulting and finance WITH STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) - you should have opportunities for both sector areas.
  • Wednesday 16 October: all disciplines - if recruiting from 'many' of the Bath disciplines or any discipline.
  • Thursday 17 October: STEM day one - if only recruiting from our related disciplines.
  • Friday 18 October: STEM day two - a further opportunity to recruit from our largest cohorts.

What we provide

We provide a pitch approximately two meters square, one table with two chairs, optional electricity at extra charge, all advertising to students, and catering vouchers for two representatives. We ask that a maximum of three representatives attend please due to the size of the pitch and venue.

If your exhibition stand is wider than two meters please email directly as there may be an extra charge. If you have any display items that are heavy/larger than can be placed on your table please also email directly to discuss.

Cost

Prices are available on request from mid-April. Contact Victoria Houston, Careers Fairs Organiser or get in touch with the Employer Engagement Team.

You can attend more than one day by requesting the 'more-than-one-day' rates. Sponsorship of days will be available. There's only one pitch size and daily price.

Bookings close when full or by the date on the booking form.

Cancellation charges apply and are listed on the booking form.

If you think your organisation should receive a lower rate, please get in touch as these will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Sponsorship

Fair sponsorship package (price TBC) includes:

  • displaying the sponsor's logo on our webpage promoting the fair to Bath students
  • displaying the sponsor's logo on posters, flyers, LCD screen adverts and social media channels promoting the fair
  • sponsors and logos in weekly emails to all students from the beginning of the semester until fair week
  • appearing as a 'featured employer'
  • receiving the most prominent stand in the venue nearest the main student entrance, or a preferred pitch of your choice
  • the cost of electricity and an extra lunch (three in total)

Arrivals information for attending employees

We will email detailed instructions to the booking contact in September. This will include courier information for you to forward and share.

Please note we cannot accept any deliveries before the day you are booked to attend. We have no storage space. Couriers must also collect on the same day you attend, after the fair ends (3pm).

If you are attending for two days, there will be extra options.
