Below are the player profiles created by team captain (James Dutton) for the first game of the 2004 season.
Adrian Wolsteholme
Our long standing opener with a style of his own,
liable to pull a variety of muscles during quick singles but able to carry his
bat and provide the core of a Venturers innings.
Adam D
Stylish bat and legspin bowler. Gets some stick in the nets
but it's a different game on grass....
Steve Lyall
Batsman with a variety of leg side shots...well one actually
but effective and able to bowl real spin without a front arm action.
Kartyk
Suprisingly straight fast bowler for a Venturer and can bat
American Luke
If he can translate his devastating batting in the nets to
the 22 yards that count he will provide more excitement than most this season
Aussie Tom
If the magic of last season's new boots has worn off he will
be relying on his skiddy bowling and aggressive sledging to win us games. Can
bat too.
James Dutton
Captain because he has nothing better to do than find
players each week. Suprisingly effective slow left arm bowler with batting
pretensions.
Mark Hornsey
Tall fast bowler with a deadly beamer used to good effect
last season. Potentially devastating if he gets the length right
Rob Branston
Bowls a bit
Paul Snow
Left arm medium fast bowler with great control of length and
line. Will win games if his knee holds and can bat really
Gregory Sankaran
The thinking man's cricketer. Right arm spin most deadly
to good batsmen. Our best umpire and number 11.
