Failand Allsorts Vs Venturers, Sunday June 30thVenturers 88-10 (29), Failand Allsorts 90-1 (16.4)After the tension of the last match we played here, this was a let-down. Then, we had collapsed and recovered: here we simply collapsed, after Krish and Shreyas had given us a solid if slow start. Nobosy did anything especially stupid or interesting, but it somehow fell apart so much that Failand only needed to use four bowlers. We lost all ten wickets for 51, and the last six for 9. After good opening spells, a young offpinner worked through us. Krish made half the runs and Shreyas almost half of the rest. Everything else was ones and twos, including Gregory’s first and quite possibly only run of the season, apart from a small contribution by Imran. Imran was also largely responsible for what resistance we put up with the ball, though it was Gregory who took the only wicket. That was a good stumping by Shreyas, who was moving to leg, down the slope, and had to bring his hands back up the slope to the stumps without losing his balance. Apart from that and Imran’s economy, there was nothing much to remark on. We didn’t have enough runs.
