Bradford-on-Avon Vs Venturers, Wednesday July 3rdVenturers 154-5 (20), Bradford-on-Avon 128-6 (20)Krish made 64 not out, Santosh 26 and nobody else very much, against good bowling. The pattern of their innings was similar: we got a few early wickets but they were making a very good job of the chase until their opener, a very good player, drove a full toss straight back to Farooq. Farooq followed that with the wicket of the other partner, and in the end we won comfortably. Unfortunately a Bradford person, not a member of the team but a spectator who had done a little umpiring, decided to have a rant at Farooq for not walking when given not out caught at the wicket in our innings. The biggest of the many things wrong with this was that the batsman concerned had been Krish, not Farooq. Also, Krish hadn’t hit it. The Bradford team were not responsible for this, and good relations have been restored, but it isn’t possible to look back at this game with much pleasure.
