Senate

Senate is responsible for regulating and directing the academic work of the University.

Meetings, minutes and agendas

Senate meets several times each academic year and makes its minutes publicly available. Check the agenda deadlines if you need to submit items and supporting papers for Senate meetings.

Members

Senate is a governing body consisting of staff and students. The Chair of Senate is the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Phil Taylor.

Senate is responsible for regulating and directing the academic work of the University.

Regulations and structure

Senate's rules and regulations, including terms of reference and governance structure, which shows the boards and committees reporting to Senate. In February 2023, Senate approved its Parental Leave Policy.


Senate Parental Leave Policy

The Policy aims to provide a transparent mechanism by which temporary vacancies on Senate are filled when a member takes any type of parental leave.
