International Relations & European Politics (IREP) postgraduate group
Run directly by research students from the Department of Politics, Languages and International Studies (POLIS), the International Relations and European Politics postgraduate group (IREP) represents a meeting point for those with an active interest in the discipline of Politics and International Relations. The group encourages academic discussion that is open to both students and staff engaged in the diverse fields of study undertaken in the Department and across the University. Members of the public are also welcome.
Most prominently, IREP hosts seminars presenting cutting-edge research and commentary by researchers from the Department and high-profile academics/practitioners from across the world. Past guest speakers have included Joseph Nye (the renowned American academic that coined ‘soft power’), Natalie Bennett (former leader of the UK Green Party) and Sir Graham Watson (former Liberal Democrat MP and MEP).
The overarching objective of IREP is to support the development of a research community among students and staff in the Department, and at the University of Bath more generally.
