A second shipment of humanitarian assistance from the University of Bath has safely arrived at Bath's Ukrainian Twinning partner institution, Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University (LTSNU) in Poltava. Bath signed a framework agreement with LTSNU in December 2022 as part of the UK-Ukraine Twinning Initiative. LTSNU lost most of its facilities, labs and equipment, books, and other resources due to the conflict and Bath committed to sending much needed equipment to LTSNU to support its teaching and research, which has continued despite the impact of the conflict. A first shipment of goods was sent to LTSNU in 2023, which included laboratory and audio-visual equipment.

Thanks to the joint efforts of the Faculty of Science Technical Services Team and the International Relations Office at the University of Bath, along with the administrative and international offices of LTSNU, 15 cargo pallets were unloaded with equipment that is used for practical research and experimental work in the areas of chemical, physical, biological and mathematical sciences as well as furniture for classrooms and a medical treadmill.

LTSNU expressed its sincere gratitude to the University of Bath for its assistance and long and systematic support in the struggle to preserve its institutional identity.
