On Tuesday 9 July we hosted a celebratory event to recognise those awarded a Staff Recognition Award (SRA) and celebrating Long Service milestones.

Being nominated for an award is a huge achievement and this year we received 147 nominations for the Staff Recognition Awards, enabling the University to recognise the hard work and commitment that continues to be delivered across campus from our professional services and support staff. Everyone nominated has received a letter of congratulations and this year we invited all those awarded, either as a winner or highly commended, to a celebratory canapé reception. This was followed by the awards ceremony, hosted by the Vice-Chancellor, where guests were presented with their awards and certificates.

We would like to say a special thank you to all those who took the time to nominate for this year’s awards. Over 550 staff and students engaged in the awards process; as a nominee, a nominator or by supporting a nomination. These nominations provided an exceptional level of detail showing how much their hard work is valued, and highlighting the level of excellence carried out by our professional services and support staff.

We are also very grateful to the panel for giving their time, experience and expertise in selecting this year’s winners: Professor Jane White (Chair), Peter Eley, Marianne Harkins, Simon Paul, Jean-Philippe Walhin, Tony Griffin, Kritika Ramachandran, and Hannah Moore.
