As we step into 2025, the climate emergency demands our attention through personal and collective action. Our community at Bath is a collective of student and staff change makers who are striving to make a difference; together, we have the power to drive positive change this year and push for a sustainable future.
Taking action comes in many forms, and everyone has the opportunity to contribute. Here are five simple actions you can take to kick off the new year with purpose and help drive change:
- empower yourself with climate knowledge by attending a Climate Literacy course and uncover your power to create positive impact (looks great on your CV), sign up for a January course on Monday 27 January or Thursday 30 January
- adopt simple habits that don’t cost the earth, such as, switching to an active journey to campus, join in on veganuary or doing a no-buy month (to name a few!)
- brush up your recycling skills and discover how recycling will not only benefit the planet but also yourself, check out ResLife for a comprehensive breakdown of all things recycling on campus
- discover the ease of making sustainable choices as a student by checking out the student sustainability guide, created by a Bath student, for students
- save money and energy this winter by checking out SOS-UK's top tips for warm and efficient student housing and halls of residence
The turn of the new year is an exciting opportunity to create lasting habits and embed change that will shape our shared future. Involve your flatmates and friends and be part of the transformational wave of change that is setting the tone for our community at Bath.
