The University of Bath MPharm Plymouth team have welcomed their first cohort of Pharmacy students to the new facilities on site at the University of Plymouth.

This cohort of 26 students represents the culmination of a 3-year project to launch a new school of pharmacy in the South West of England, supported the University of Bath, the University of Plymouth, and NHS England. Our MPharm pharmacy course is the same course that is delivered at Bath but delivered at the University of Plymouth and combines classroom learning, campus-based simulations and placements in real healthcare settings across the South West.

Lyn Hanning, Head of Pharmacy at Plymouth, has been joined by 7 new academic and professional services staff: “Welcome Week went very well, with a fantastic show of support from both Bath and Plymouth colleagues from across professional services and academic teams. We’re excited to start teaching this cohort and begin to contribute further to pharmacy services in the south west region.”

Teaching on the course is being delivered in the newly completed pharmacy practice suite facilities. Students on the course are registered with Bath and have access to a range of on-site support provided by Plymouth, such as library access, accommodation and emergency student support.

Our thanks go to all Bath staff, from across the University including Student Support, Marketing, Registry, DDaT, Library, Faculty of Science and the Department of Life Sciences, for their continued support in making this a successful course.
