In January 2025, University of Bath will be launching Green Impact, a tried and tested programme for embedding sustainability in your teams and work.
Green Impact, delivered by student-led education charity SOS-UK, is a sustainability engagement programme that will support you and your colleagues who want to improve your sustainability and social responsibility. Whether you’re taking your first steps into sustainability, or feel like there’s nothing left for you to do – you can make meaningful, visible progress as part of Green Impact, and get recognised for your efforts! The best part is that your team will be one of many and, by working together, we can make a real difference
The Green Impact online toolkit breaks the University’s sustainability goals into simple, manageable actions while holding space for creativity and room to grow. We have worked with SOS-UK to create a bespoke toolkit for University of Bath staff that will enable you to complete actions in line with the University strategy and sustainability commitments, local targets and the culture of the University.
The programme will launch on Wednesday 15 January and, from then on, teams of staff and students will work together to complete actions, tracking progress and uploading evidence to the toolkit as you go. At the end of the year, we will hold an awards ceremony to recognise and celebrate the positive change and impact of teams.
Get involved
- Register to attend our launch event on Wednesday 15 January where you can find out more
- Register your interest to get involved and we'll be in touch with more details in January
Until then...get ready for the Winter Holiday Switch Off!
Whilst Green Impact does not officially launch until January, you can get a head start by taking part in our Winter Holiday Switch Off campaign! During semester breaks and periods when the University is closed, we have a significant opportunity to save money and energy by switching off anything that doesn’t need to be on and turning down equipment where possible. You can help reduce how much energy we use over the winter break by taking part in this campaign.
If you get involved with this campaign in your team, you will be able to log some points straight away once you access the toolkit in January as this will be one of the toolkit actions!
