The University of Bath has a programme of events in support of Postdoc Appreciation Week. Researcher Development Manager, Annali Bamber-Jones in Research and Innovation Services (RIS), says:

Postdoc Appreciation Week is an international event to celebrate the significant contributions that postdocs make to research and the research community. The events at Bath during this week have been based on our own postdoc’s ideas. As well as saying thank you to them, we want to create a strong postdoc community at Bath and give opportunities to build new connections and foster a positive research culture.

19 September: Fabulous Failures
3.15pm 10 West 2.47
Research by Professor Amy Edmundson, the world’s leading expert on psychological safety, has shown that the most successful environments are those in which people are allowed to fail. In order to promote an open and positive research culture at Bath and to learn from each other, we have invited a panel of academics join Professor Julie Barnett to share with us their “fabulous failures” and what they have learnt as a result. Panel discussion will be followed by afternoon tea (scones, jam and cream) and an opportunity to network with other postdocs.
