A yellow weather warning of strong winds is in place today (Sunday 8 December) until 6pm.
This is a dynamic situation, and we are keeping the forecast under close review.
For students, staff and visitors on campus and in University premises over the weekend, please take care when travelling or walking outside. Health and Safety advice is:
- Monitor official weather warnings and follow Government advice
- If you must travel, allow more time for your journey and be cautious
- Stay indoors where possible when winds are high
- If you are on campus, stick to footpaths and avoid woodland paths and areas
As usual, we will try to keep retail and catering outlets open if it is safe to do so. If we do need to restrict activity on campus and in University buildings, we will let you know.
If weather conditions deteriorate significantly, we will post further communications using the channels below.
The SafeZone app is available free to all students and staff and you can sign up to receive SMS for travel alerts and adverse weather warnings. If you already have the SafeZone app downloaded, please ensure you also allow app notifications in your phone's settings.
In the event of a red weather warning, we will send an SMS to all student and staff numbers registered for emergency notifications.
