During the summer the Student Support centre has undergone a schedule of refurbishment aimed at creating a welcoming, modern and safe space, and to accommodate our expanding services to support students.

Our helpdesk and services have now moved back into the Roper Centre in 4 West from their temporary position over the summer. All of our services continue to operate as normal.

A design for students

Following feedback from students and staff, a working group was established with representation from Student Support staff, Campus infrastructure, The SU and student representatives to create the final design. Improvements made to the centre include:

  • A redesigned welcoming reception and waiting area.
  • Installation of a new accessible reception desk.
  • A reconfigured office space to locate our Student Support Advice team (who students can access on a walk-in basis) next to our helpdesk.
  • New window graphics to help students find us, be aware of the support available and create more privacy for students accessing services.
  • Refurbishment of our 1 West appointment waiting area
  • Decoration of our consultation rooms to help students feel more comfortable during appointments
  • Reconfiguring the space to allow students to exit the building more discreetly

Please do take the opportunity to pop in next time you pass and see the changes for yourself.
