March 17th marks the start of Be Well Week so it's a fitting time to announce the opening of the 'Library Nook'. The Nook provides comfy seating and a collection of 'reading for pleasure, leisure and wellbeing' books. It's called the ‘Nook’ because we’d like to make the space a cosy "go to" destination for students and staff who need to take a break and enjoy a relaxing read.
The Library Nook is located opposite the lift on Level 2 (the entrance level). Why not pop by to explore what’s on offer!
Why?
There's strong evidence of the benefits of reading for pleasure, particularly in promoting mental wellbeing and reducing stress.
What you'll find in the collection:
- Classics and bestsellers: From contemporary fiction to timeless classics.
- Trending titles: We’ve included a range of the latest recommendations from ‘Booktok’.
- Genres galore: Whether you love romantasy, historical fiction, sport or graphic novels, we’re aiming to provide something for everyone.
- Relaxation: Dive into a good book and take a break from your academic studies.
- Find out about the individual titles in the collection here.
- You can find more recommended reading for pleasure and wellbeing (including ebooks) in our guide to Reading for Pleasure and Wellbeing.
How can you help us?
With your help, we can make the Nook even better! Over the summer, we'll be drawing on student feedback to develop a larger, even more comfy lounge-like area at the back of Level 2.
What books would you like to see added to the collection? Please let us know by using one of the following methods: complete this online form, use the post box (and slips) next to the Nook, or email library@bath.ac.uk.
