What is One Young World?

One Young World is a great opportunity for anyone interested in finding innovative solutions for the pressing issues the world faces, helping shape global development.


The annual One Young World Summit is attended by the most valuable young talent from global and national companies, NGOs, universities and other forward-thinking organisations as well as world leaders. Speakers have included Kofi Annan, Rosario Dawson, Rio Ferdinand, Christiana Figueres, Jamad Fiin, Sir Bob Geldof, Jane Goodall, Ariana Huffington, Ibtihaj Muhammad, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Mary Robinson, Justin Trudeau, Emma Watson and Muhammad Yunus.

The summit will be attended by over 2000 young leaders from more than 190 countries.

Apply to become a delegate

A total of four University of Bath delegates will be funded to attend the Munich summit, one funded by each of the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences; the Faculty of Engineering and Design; the Faculty of Science and the School of Management.

One Young World Munich takes place 3 - 6 November 2025.

University of Bath delegates will need to be a current student during 2025/26. Students on placement and undertaking PhDs, are eligible to apply. However, if you are selected as a delegate, you must ensure you have permission to attend from your employer, supervisor, or your Director of Studies.

The four delegates chosen to represent each Faculty/School at OYW Munich will also be required to lead the Student Organising Committee for the One Young World Bath Forum in March 2026. One delegate will be assigned to lead the Planning team, one to lead the Relationships team, and two to lead the Marketing team.

The deadline for applications is Sunday 20 April 2025. In your application you will need to:

  • explain how you would benefit from attending
  • tell us if you’ve got a project or idea you’d like to develop on your return

You must also agree to the competition terms and conditions.

If you get shortlisted for the delegate places, you will be invited for interview to review your motivations and eligibility. This is expected to take place during the week of 28 April 2025. Online interviews can be arranged if you are on a placement or study year abroad.
