Department of Education Offer Holder Days (OHDs)

Experience what it'll be like to study your chosen education course at Bath. You must have an undergraduate degree offer to attend.

After you receive an offer to study our BA (Hons) Education with Psychology course, we'll email you to invite you to an Offer Holder Day (OHD).

We usually run OHDs between February and May. You'll be able to choose from a selection of available dates, but it's best to book early to make sure you get a place as they can fill up quickly.

As part of your invitation, you'll receive information about travel, campus accessibility, and where to go when you get here.

Unfortunately, you will not be able to visit our student accommodation facilities during OHDs. However, you can find out more about our accommodation options on our Student Accommodation web pages.

What you'll get from an Offer Holder Day (OHD)

OHDs are for people with an offer to study with us. You don’t have to accept your offer to attend an OHD.

OHDs are the next step after an Open Day. Whereas Open Days give you an overall experience of the University, an OHD is your chance to gain a greater insight into the course you want to study and what it’ll be like to be part of our Department of Education (which runs our BA (Hons) Education with Psychology course).

In-person and online OHDs

We offer an in-person or online OHD 1. This means that you can benefit from the OHD experience whether you visit our campus or not.

During online OHDs, you'll be able to listen to talks, and speak to staff and current students. In-person OHDs do give you the chance to explore our campus, facilities and the city of Bath.

What you’ll do at an OHD

OHDs start with an introductory talk from one of our academics. They'll tell you more about how our courses are structured and assessed; the topics you'll study; and other opportunities available to you, such as our professional placements scheme.

You'll also be able to talk more informally with staff from our Department and student ambassadors, who will be happy to answer any questions you have about studying at Bath.

During in-person OHDs, we'll then take you on a campus tour. This is your chance to visit some of our facilities and learning spaces 2, and experience what it's like to be a Bath student.

Student life at Bath

Throughout the OHD, you can speak to students studying education with us. They’ll be able to answer your questions about university and campus life, and talk about their own experiences.

As well as finding out more about the Department of Education and your course, during in-person OHDs you’ll have the chance to explore our campus and visit:

  • our Sports Training Village (STV) - home to facilities used by Olympic athletes and top sports teams
  • The Students’ Union
  • The Edge - where you can take dance, art and music classes
  • The Plug and The Tub - our on-campus bar and nightclub
  • various food outlets and cafés

Explore the city

OHDs usually last around half a day. This means that you’ll have time to travel into Bath and experience the city. Bath is a student-friendly place with lots of picturesque outside spaces and shops, restaurants and bars.

If you're unable to attend an OHD

We want to help you experience our University, even if you're unable to attend an OHD.

We offer a range of dates so you can choose to attend one that best suits you.

However, if you are unable to make one of our OHDs and would like to visit us, we offer a range of group and self-led campus tour options.
