Skills for Success programme

Skills sessions each semester to enhance your academic performance and boost your employability skills.

Our interactive Skills for Success sessions have been carefully designed to help you at different stages of your academic journey, whether you are tackling your first essay, preparing for exams, or writing your dissertation.

The sessions run each semester and are suitable for all students at all levels of study. Access a summary of all sessions.

All sessions are 50 minutes long either in-person on campus or live online (LOIL) on Microsoft Teams.

Advance booking is required on MySkills. Before signing up for a session, please make sure that the day and time do not clash with your academic timetable by checking MyTimetable.

Please note, sessions may be cancelled at short notice if there is insufficient take-up. We will advise you as soon as possible if a session is cancelled.

*Our 'Skills for Success' sessions were previously known as 'Skills Enrichment'. The quality and purpose remain however, the name has changed to better reflect our mission to help you succeed.


Certificates

We offer digital certificates to recognise your participation in our programmes, which you can use in your skills portfolios going forward. There are two options, detailed below.


Writing toolkit certificate

Attend and participate in all eleven of our writing toolkit sessions, spread across either one or both semesters of the academic year 2024-2025.

Complete skills toolkit certificate

Attend and participate in all of our writing toolkit sessions, communication, communication and employability, and public speaking sessions, spread across either one or both semesters of the academic year 2024-2025.
