Take part in the Course-level Survey

If you are a non-final undergraduate student not on a placement, year abroad or in suspense, you can share your views on your time at the University of Bath.

Complete the survey now

The Course-level Survey is an internal survey sent to non-final year undergraduate students. It asks them about their course experience so far this academic year.

Previous students gave their feedback in other student surveys, such as the National Student Survey (NSS), which has shaped your experience at the University. You can do the same for future students by being honest about what is good and what could be improved.

When you can complete the Course-level Survey

The Course-level Survey will be open in Semester 2 every academic year.

You are eligible to complete the Course-level Survey if you are not in your final year of undergraduate study and you:

  • are not currently on placement
  • are not currently on a study year abroad
  • are not currently in suspense
  • are not in your first year of part-time study
  • did not enrol in January of the same year that the Course-level Survey is running

If you are studying on the BSc Architecture or BSc Business course and are currently on placement, you are eligible.

If you are in your second year of the FdSc Sports Performance course, you are eligible for the NSS instead.

The Course-level Survey 2025 opens on Monday 3 March and closes at 23:59 on Monday 31 March 2025.

Questions asked

The Course-level Survey asks a variety of questions about your course experience so far this academic year.

You can see the questions asked in the Course-level Survey. They include:

  • course-level approach
  • assessment for learning
  • organisation and management
  • student voice
  • sustainability
  • learning resources
  • wellbeing support
  • overall satisfaction
  • up to two additional questions
  • two free-text comment questions

Giving constructive feedback

Giving constructive and detailed feedback in the open comments is most helpful for staff to make changes and improvements. You may recognise the characteristics of constructive feedback from the feedback you receive on your own work:

  • honest
  • specific
  • respectful
  • solution-focused
  • includes the good and the bad
  • how to do better next time

Although your responses are anonymised to academic and professional services staff, your comments must be in line with the University's Dignity & Respect Policy and Procedure. Offensive or discriminatory comments will be investigated.
