Science projects are great for developing students' skills in research and many schools run science clubs or similar.
These resources provide all the information necessary to run a six-week Science Project for students in Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 or Key Stage 3. The project gives pupils the opportunity to come up with their very own experiment, including a research question and hypothesis, run this experiment and then present their findings in poster form.
We know not all teachers are science experts so we've assumed little knowledge throughout the resources and put a selection of resources together to support you.
Key Stage 1
The booklet is split into six sessions, which can be run in a one-off hour-long session or can be spread out over a week. At Key Stage 1 level, it is probably too much to ask for the children to come up with an experiment themselves. This booklet, therefore, provides a number of ideas for possible projects that you as a teacher can run with your students.

Key Stage 3
This set of resources for Key Stage 3 teachers contains support for teachers delivering a project, lesson plans and associated PowerPoint files for running the project. There is also a separate workbook for students to complete. Additional sections have been added for students who are able and if completed, they meet the criteria for submission for a Bronze CREST award.
