Aims: This module aims to provide students with the necessary theoretical and practical tools to understand the, and work in, a multi-currency professional environment.
Learning Outcomes: At the end of this unit, students should develop understanding of: (i) the issues surrounding international investments; (ii) derivative instruments and markets; (iii) assessing risk of international transactions; (iv) the origins and effects of financial crises. Content: (i) Portfolio diversification theory and its applications in contemporary international markets; (ii) porfolio valuation measures; (iii) assessment of currency risk; (iv) currency risk hedging instruments and techniques; (v) fundamentals of major international financial crises. |
