Aims: To familiarise the student with the principles of measurement required in experimental pharmacology; to introduce the skills required for oral communication of scientific information.
Learning Outcomes: At the end of the unit the student should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the principles of measurement applied to basic pharmacology, and the ability to give a short oral presentation.

Content: The topics in this unit include basic techniques and recording equipment; molarities; dose-response curves using in vitro preparations; group work on preparing and giving short oral presentations on a scientific theme.
