Description: | Aims: To provide an understanding of the principles, design and testing of the sealing of building envelopes. Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of the Unit the students should be able to: * specify weathertightness criteria and appropriate testing. * design joints and seals. * analyse the movement of moisture within walls. Skills: Critical assessment of the different methods of sealing building envelopes. Ability to conduct tests for the assessment of constructed walls. Content: Air, water and wind environment, Gaskets, joints and interface design, weathertightness testing, moisture movement in walls. |
