Description: | Aims: This unit will enable students to appreciate and develop a clear understanding of the coaching process, coaching behaviour and coaching practice. Students will adopt a range of coaching methods and techniques for working with individuals and teams collecting / evaluating information and gaining practical experience of coaching. Learning Outcomes: At the end of this unit students will be able to: * identify the factors associated with the coaching process, coaching behaviours and coaching practice; * develop and practice the skills required to become a competent coach; * analyse and evaluate coaching performance. Skills: * communication; * application of number; * information technology; * basic management skills. Content: * the coaching process: process characteristics, boundaries, typology, session preparation and planning, organisation, management, observation, delivery; * the coaching behaviour: communication, problem solving, manner, decision making interpersonal skills, demonstration, feedback; * the coaching practice: application of the coaching process and behaviours for effective coaching (implementation, evaluations, analysis, progression, differentiation). |
