Description: | Aims: This unit aims to provide students with a broad understanding of creative media technologies including, but not restricted to, video standards, audio-visual monitoring set-up, Mac set-up, PC set-up, essential maintenance (tape head cleaning, lens cleaning, battery care). Learning Outcomes: By the end of this unit the student should be able to: * identify and explain the key features of current creative IT and digital film & broadcast technologies; * demonstrate competence in setting up creative IT and digital film & broadcast equipment in order to work with professional creative software and produce work suitable for a variety of formats; * implement a post-production facility to a given specification. Skills: Practical: implementation of systems and set-up of equipment (F, A) Analytical: problem solving, identifying technology appropriate for purpose (F, A) Professional: identify key features of current creative media technologies (T, A) Intellectual: gathering, processing and analysing technical information (F, A). Key: applying numerical techniques (F) Content: Practical experimentation with equipment building knowledge of features of current creative IT and digital film & broadcast technologies. Demonstration of competence in use of kit. |
