Description: | Aims: This unit aims to develop an in depth understanding of the creation and development of scripts, for traditional media products and multimedia. Learning Outcomes: By the end of this unit students should be able to: * understand the development process for a script from pitching to production; * understand the professional context in which contemporary media and/or multimedia scripts are produced; * demonstrate in the production of premises, synopses and treatments an understanding of the basic building blocks of story. Skills: Professional: producing work to professional standards (F, A) Intellectual: analysis and critical comment on own work (F, A) Key: presentation (communication) (F, A) Content: Maintain a log and brief analysis of scripts read and films watched Demonstrate understanding of legal and ethical issues, research skills and working practices involved in writing for film, broadcast and/or interactive media. Adapting the same script for different media Understanding the impact target audience has on writing style Understand the scripting process from pitch to production: e.g. Creating and presenting a pitch. Constructing scenario, treatment etc for a proposed script as required. Constructing a storyboard. |
