Description: | Aims: This unit aims to introduce students to both the theory underpinning commonly used nutritional techniques and also develop the ability to apply the concept of dietary analysis. Learning Outcomes: At the end of this unit students will be able to: * Identify and outline the function of the major macro and micro nutrients in the context of a coach advising his/her athletes; * Identify and outline how macro nutrients are mobilised and utilised during different intensities of training and performance; * Demonstrate an awareness of optimal nutrition for training and performance.
