![]() | Aims: This unit aims to: Develop students' professional techniques fundamental to video production, in the practical production of live and experimental contexts. Learning Outcomes: By the end of the unit the student should be able to: * define and demonstrate the craft skills associated with camera operation and lighting when recording photographic images for video or cinema. Skills: Practical: digital video camera/camcorder set-up, digital video camera/camcorder operation, lighting set-up, manipulation of ambient light, measurement of lighting conditions (F, A) Analytical; evaluative: analysis of lighting conditions, field of view and depth of field with a view to lighting set-up decisions and lens choices; analysis of cinematographic techniques used in film and television (F, A) Content: Analysis of cinematographic techniques in film and television. Experimentation with lighting and camera techniques. Application of advanced techniques to practical exercises and short films. |
