Description: | Aims: To develop key conceptual and contextual knowledge of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary sports science support teams. Examining the roles of, biomechanists, physiologists, strength and conditioning coaches, sports nutritionists, Physiotherapist, Dr�s, Psychologist, LSA and how the work with athletes and technical coaches to improve performance across the domains of beginners through to expert. Learning Outcomes: At the end of this unit students will be able to: * Effectively identify key issues faced by the individual practitioners when working with athletes in a sports performance environment; * Discuss the underpinning issues from an appropriate exercise and sports perspective; * Analyse, reflect, evaluate and critically appraise the roles and responsibilities of the practitioner in their working environment in relation to the performance needs of the athletes and their relevance to a specific sports performance context. Skills: Reading, Analysis, Interpretation, Application, Communication. Content: Interdisciplinary and multi disciplinary sports science support teams.
