![]() | Aims: The aim of this unit is to develop students� understanding of cross-cultural work and management in global corporations through the study of a selection of cases and theories. The unit will focus (but not exclusively) on global professional service firms (e.g. accountancies and management consultancies) and examine the implications of cultural differences on a range of substantive areas, including knowledge management, talent management and teamwork. Learning Outcomes: By the end of this unit, students should be able to: * Explain why and how national cultures influence work and management in global corporations; * Differentiate between `mainstream� and `critical� approaches to understanding cross-cultural work and management; * Apply relevant theoretical frameworks to reflect on and explain cross-cultural work and management situations; * Reflect critically on cross-cultural work and management problems; * Explain how the various course topics in this unit interrelate.
