Description: | Aims: The unit aims to build on the core skills learnt through Production Techniques 1 & 2 to advance the student's video editing skills and introduce motion graphics and compositing techniques. Learning Outcomes: By the end of this unit students should: * evaluate advanced principles of editing; * evaluate current uses of motion graphics in relation to the historical development of the discipline; * be able to plan a motion graphics sequence and complex video editing techniques; * be able to produce a complex edit and motion graphics sequence. Skills: Practical: lighting, camera techniques, compositing, video editing, animation (F, A). Intellectual: problem solving, analysis of existing material. Key: numeracy skills associated with advanced editing. Content: Study of historical and contemporary uses of motion graphics and principles of editing. Planning of motion graphics and editing using accepted industry working methods. Production of motion graphics and editing work. Evaluation of practical work. |
