Description: | Aims: To provide knowledge and skills required in the development of health and fitness programmes for children, people with disabilities and older participants. To give learners both a theoretical and practical understanding of the key issues surrounding children, disability and age. Learning Outcomes: At the end of this unit students will be able to: * recognise how health and fitness plays an important part in improving the health and fitness of different populations; * examine the key organisational agencies and their role in promoting equity within special populations; * apply the key health and fitness considerations when working with individuals from various populations; * discuss the factors influencing participation and provision of health and fitness for special populations.
