Description: | Aims: This unit will expand and develop the student's knowledge of sport psychology with an emphasis on combining theory and practice to improve an individual's sporting performance. This unit will also allow students to examine real life coaching scenarios with the benefit of having practical knowledge and application gained from lectures and assessments. Learning Outcomes: At the end of this unit students will be able to: * Identify and outline psychological theories which apply to the sports performer; * Identify and evaluate appropriate psychological intervention strategies; * Devise strategies for both training and competition.
