Description: | Aims: To allow students to develop a critical understanding of the application of psychological interventions to sport performance and injury. To develop an understanding of the academic background of psychological interventions and usage within profession specific context. Learning Outcomes: At the end of this unit students will be able to: * Identify the key factors contributing to athletes being psychologically prepared for performance and rehabilitation; * Devise strategies for differing sport and exercise scenarios; * Reflect and evaluate the outcome of intervention. Typical psychological and emotional responses to injury; Adherence issues to training, rehabilitation and exercise. |
