Description: | Aims: The unit aims to introduce students to the skills, techniques and resources required to study and learn effective lifestyle management techniques, and appraise current lifestyle choices through client consultation. Crucial to this is the introduction of students to the underpinning commonly used nutritional techniques and the ability to apply the concept of dietary analysis to various individuals and groups. Learning Outcomes: At the end of the unit students should be able to: * Identify and outline the function of macronutrients and micronutrients in the context of health and lifestyle; * Identify and outline the principles and practice of dehydration and rehydration; * Identify and outline the process of client consultation and lifestyle programme design; * Identify and outline the important factors that impact on the lifestyle of men and women.
