Description: | Aims: This unit enables students to develop some of the management skills learnt in 'Introduction to Management Skills' by exploring specifically the role of marketing and business planning as a Health and Fitness Manager. This includes delivering the skills and underpinning knowledge to prepare a marketing strategy/business plan for a health or fitness venture, and in so doing provides the opportunity for students to obtain the Central YMCA Qualification in 'Business and Marketing Skills for the Fitness Professional' as an additional qualification (subject to logistics). Learning Outcomes: At the end of this unit students will be able to: * Outline the management role & skills required for strategic/business planning and project management; * Describe the terminology and tools required for marketing in the health and fitness industry; * Develop the skills necessary to produce a marketing/business strategy for a health/fitness organisation.
