Description: | Aims: The aims of this unit are to give students the opportunity to understand the range of management activities that take place in the average business, and to also introduce students to the concept of leadership, and cover such topics as motivation, team work and communication in relation to their importance in the average motorsport small to medium sized business. Learning Outcomes: By the end of a unit a student will be able to: * Analyse and evaluate the management and leadership skills needed by a manager in a small to medium motorsport sized business. * Understand and be able to evaluate management / organisational structures in small to medium motorsport sized businesses. * Understand and evaluate the need for planning in a business, and be able to describe and evaluate an example decision making process in a small to medium sized motorsport business. * Analyse and evaluate the need for effective motivation, communication, and team work; and understand the process of managing conflict in a business situation. * Understand and be able to analyse a set of financial reports from an existing small to medium motorsport sized business.
