Aims: This unit aims to provide the students with the theoretical foundations necessary for understanding and analysing corporate policy. Learning Outcomes: At the end of the unit students will be expected to be able to: Understand the importance of information asymmetry and agency costs as determinants of corporate management actions regarding the capital structure of a firm and its dividend policy. Appreciate the problems that arise in asset evaluation in cases of mergers and acquisition.
