Description: | Aims: The overall aim of the Social Entrepreneurship Action Project is to create the opportunity for students to tackle a social issue in a business or organisation organisational setting. This is designed to give the opportunity for students to begin to apply some of the concepts, techniques and skills acquired during their taught programme. Learning Outcomes: Students who successfully complete the unit will have demonstrated their ability to: * tackle social issues within the business or organisational setting. * undertake entrepreneurial activities. * plan a practical activity. * act on that plan, adapting their objectives to meet the needs of the situation where appropriate. * present their findings in a written and oral form. Skills: Intellectual: * understanding of the principles of social issues in management and entrepreneurship. (F; A) Professional/Practical: * project management. (F; A) * team organisation. (F; A) * risk assessment (F) Key Skills * communication (F; A) * working with others (F; A) * written and oral presentation (A). Content: Briefing on the Social Entrepreneurship Action Project aims; group formation; identification of suitable project; conduct of project; writing up findings and reporting back to peer group and group co-ordinator. Students will learn about other areas in ways which will vary from one project to another depending on the objectives of the project and the circumstances of the team. |
