Description: | Aims: To update underpinning knowledge of cardiovascular disease management and therapeutics. Learning Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will be able to: 1. Describe and analyse the role of the healthcare professional / pharmacist in prescribing, administration and monitoring of medication for patients with cardio vascular disease (knowledge and understanding). 2. Explain the disease and patient monitoring factors in this therapeutic area (knowledge and understanding, professional practical skill). 3. Critically evaluate the evidence base for the management of cardiovascular disease (intellectual skill). 4. Reflect on their own practice in supporting patients with these diseases and identify areas for continuous improvement (personal transferable skill). 5.
