The aim of this unit is to provide students the opportunity to develop their professional practice (identity, reflexivity and understanding of difference) in a variety of community based sport and physical activity contexts. Students will develop their conceptual understanding of 'community' in relation to practical experience in the field. This unit develops from Professional Identity and Practice in semester one and is oriented towards a critical understanding of the power relationships between the professional self,organizational contexts and diverse populations.

Learning Outcomes:
On completion of this unit students should:
* be able to critically reflect on assumptions they bring to different community based practice contexts (gender, class, race, sexuality, religion, disability, age) and professional development
* have experienced observing, engaging with and reflecting upon professional practice with different community groups and organizational contexts
* furthered their understanding of potential career pathways and how they can utilise knowledge within the degree programme.

Content:
This unit brings together theory and practice through field work and seminar based discussion. Students will independently undertake professional experiences in community contexts that extend their knowledge of diverse populations.
