Description: | Aims: The thin sandwich system at Bath offers students the opportunity to experience a range of employment in architectural practices, or in other activities that are related to the academic and professional nature of the course. Aims and objectives are stipulated as part of an RIBA Professional Experience and Development Record (PEDR) to be completed by the student and his/her employer. Learning Outcomes: Ability to integrate design and professional skills in the workplace. Skills: Integration of design and professional skills with the workplace. Group working with other trades and professions. Content: The Department will support all students in their search for placements, and will offer guidance in the preparation of applications. However, employment is not guaranteed, and all students who are unsuccessful in finding employment will be required to pursue activities that will form a useful contribution to their development. The students will prepare an A1 panel which illustrates an aspect of their placement experience. |
