Description: | Aims: To allow students to gain an understanding of the key concepts and processes that underpins the study and practice of physical education. Learning Outcomes: Students completing this unit will: * Develop knowledge and understanding of the key concepts and processes of the PE National Curriculum; * Understand the history and contemporary relevance of physical education in schools and society; * Gain experience and knowledge of the acquisition and development of practical skills; * Develop evaluative and diagnostic skills relevant to self and others. Skills: * Effective oral communication (e.g. teaching presentations) T/F/A * Ability to apply theory into practice. F * Ability to work effectively as part of a group or team. F * Students will gain both diagnostic and evaluative skills relevant to self and peer observation. F/A * Students will be expected to work without supervision.
