![]() | Aims: To give each student experience in the study of biological information and in its written and verbal presentation. Learning Outcomes After taking this course the student should be able to: * Prepare and present a 20 minute talk on a biological topic using PowerPoint; * Source primary and secondary literature relevant to a biological topic; * Write an extended essay on a biological topic with appropriate referencing and citations; * Prepare a poster on a biological topic in a style appropriate for a scientific conference; * Prepare an abstract from a scientific publication or oral research seminar. Skills: Learning and studying T/F/A, Written communication T/F/A, Oral communication T/F, Information handling & retrieval T/F/A, Working independently T/F, Career preparation T/F. Content: The course consists of a series of small group sessions with a lecturer and about 4-5 students. |
